Today, as the official draw of the World Judo Masters was unfolding, Her Imperial Highness Princess Tomohito of Mikasa from Japan, Ambassador to Judo, was welcomed by the IJF President, Mr Marius Vizer, at IJF headquarters in Budapest Hungary.

Also present were Mr Yasuhiro Yamashita, IOC Member, President of the Japanese Olympic Committee and IJF World Promotion Director, Mr Haruki Uemura, President of the Kodokan and IJF World Promotion Director, and Dr Hanai Atatreh, Chairman of Atatreh group.

Her Imperial Highness Princess Tomohito of Mikasa received a special certificate from the IJF President to mark her appointment as IJF Judo Ambassador, during the IJF gala dinner held on the eve of the World Championships Tokyo 2019. Since then she has attended several major judo events and will be attending the World Judo Masters over the weekend, for the first time.

The meeting offered an occasion for the guests to exchange ideas about judo and its values and to highlight how important they are in our ever-changing world.
