Franco Cappelletti, judo 10th dan, in charge of the International Judo Federation Kata commission and member of the IJF Hall of Fame, was awarded by FICTS (International Sport Movies TV Federation) with a 'Guirlande d'Honneur'. The award was presented by Prof. Franco Ascani, FICTS President.

The investiture ceremony was held in Milan on November 15th at Palazzo Giureconsulti.

Franco Ascani said: “For FICTS, sports culture has a moral strength and a great educational value that exalts the universality and the positive values of sport as a tool for social change.”

Franco Capelletti said: “It is for me and for my family, an honour to have received that prize and a pride for my city Brescia and my country Italy.“

IJF President, Marius Vizer said: “I would like to congratulate you on this well-deserved recognition. My thoughts and joy are with you celebrating your stellar achievement.“

Franco Capelletti is one of the most lauded names in Italian judo and shares a lifetime of judo experience.

The renowned 10th Dan retains a strong connection to the grassroots level of the sport as President of his highly-respected club, Judo Club Capelletti, which he formed in 2002.

The famed Italian has recruited and trained specialised teachers to the club including his son Fabio.
