The Judo Federation of Macedonia was founded in the early seventies and since its inception not only the membership has grown but also the number of competitions. Hence, national competitions are held in the following age categories U11, U13, U15, U18, U21, U23, seniors as well as national championships for senior and junior teams … and now also for veterans.

Indeed. Recently, on April 14th, the Judo Federation of Macedonia, for the first time in its history, organized the National Veterans Championship, which was hosted in the city of Prilep.

This inaugural National Championship for Veterans brought a large number of participants on the tatami, and many positive reactions regarding the competitions echoed on social media channels. Also, the federation received a lot of praise for hosting this event.

“As chairman of the competition commission, I am glad that finally there is a national competition for this age category as well, and, of course, in the future the participation numbers will certainly increase,” Nikola Bozhinovski commented. “The event was organized at a very high level and I congratulate the participants on their achievements in this age category. I’m grateful to the board of the veterans from the city of Prilep chaired by Kiro Zdraveski, who 11 months ago was appointed as a selector for the veterans. This inaugural edition was a great success.”
