IJF Secretary General Dr Lisa Allan welcomed her by saying, “We warmly congratulate Ms Polling on her election and look forward to collaborating closely.”
This new role comes with an automatic invitation to join the IJF Executive Committee and so Kim takes on this enormous responsibility too, to be part of the expert team which shapes the future of judo globally.
Kim accepted her appointments happily, “I'm proud that l've been elected as chair of the IJF Athletes' Commission. It's a big responsibility for me to now also be part of the lJF Executive Committee and I deeply appreciate the trust placed in me, first by the athletes who voted and now also by my fellow commission members. I will do my best to honour this trust.
The first thing I want to say is that, together with the other members, I'm looking forward to representing judoka from all over the world. The previous Athletes' Commissions have laid important foundations over recent years and it is now our task to use the next four years to build on that and take it further.”
Kim and the entire IJF Athletes’ Commission encourage all judoka to get in touch with their questions, concerns or ideas. All athletes can reach out via [email protected]. “We are here for you,” says Kim.
