The International Judo Federation was represented by President Marius Vizer, while the Judo Federation of the Republic of Moldova was represented by its president, Andrei Golban.
This agreement marks an important milestone for Moldovan judo. Over many years, Moldova has produced renowned champions whose passion for the sport has been matched only by their commitment to its development at every level. Hosting a world championship is both recognition of that long-standing dedication and an opportunity to inspire the next generation.
The cadet world championships represent the first major step on the international pathway. Many Olympic champions, world medallists and athletes who now shine on the World Judo Tour began their journeys in the cadet ranks. It is at this stage that young judoka first experience the intensity of global competition and begin to understand the demands and possibilities of elite sport.
For Chișinău, the 2027 edition will provide a global stage for emerging talent and reinforce Moldova’s growing presence within the international judo community. For the athletes, it will be a formative moment, a chance to measure themselves against the best of their generation and to glimpse the road that may one day lead to world and Olympic podia.
With the signing now complete, preparations begin officially for what promises to be a landmark event for Moldovan judo and for the future stars of the sport.
