The opening ceremony of Grand Prix Portugal 2024 took place today in the heart of the city of Odivelas. The ceremony started with a demonstration of the ‘Avós(z) do Judo’ project. The Judo Clube da Marinha Grande implemented this innovative social project in 2022 with the support of the ‘Portugal 2020’ programme.

The main objective of this initiative is to reduce the impact of falls on the health of older people through the integrated practice of judo, gymnastics and self-defence. This approach aims not only to strengthen physical skills but also to create a supportive and inclusive environment.
