Bringing together 350 carefully selected young judoka, the event combined high-level technical practice, education and inspiration in a unique setting. Against the backdrop of Egypt's beautiful shores and perfect summer weather, participants experienced judo in a completely different environement, demonstrating that the sport can thrive far beyond the walls of a traditional dojo.
The programme also welcomed distinguished guests, including Egypt's Minister of Youth and Sport, whose continued support for the Egyptian Judo Federation has been instrumental in developing the sport across the country, and the President of Sports United Company, underlining the growing recognition of innovative campaigns that bring judo closer to new audiences.
For Mohamed Motei, President of the Egyptian Judo Federation, the project reflects a long-term vision to expand the reach of judo by taking it beyond the dojo. "This is the second year of our Judo on the Beach programme. I believe we were one of the first federations to create such an initiative, combining our sport with the beauty of Egypt's coastline. We wanted to show that judo can be practised not only indoors but also on wonderful beaches, allowing us to reach new people and inspire them to discover our sport. When I shared the idea with Teddy Riner, he was immediately enthusiastic. He spent three days with us, working with our judoka and making this vision a reality. We are also honoured by the presence of Egypt's Minister of Youth and Sport, whose unwavering support means so much for the development of judo in our country."
Throughout the three-day event, Teddy Riner shared far more than technical expertise. His presence, generosity and accessibility left a lasting impression on the young athletes, who had the unique opportunity to learn from a prolific Olympic and world champion whose career continues to inspire judoka across every continent. Every demonstration, every exchange and every photograph became a memory that will remain with the participants long after the beach emptied.
By taking judo out of the traditional sports hall and into one of Egypt's most iconic landscapes, the Egyptian Judo Federation continues to demonstrate that innovation and tradition can go hand in hand. Building on the success of the inaugural edition, Judo on the Beach has become more than a summer event; it is a celebration of judo's universal values and an invitation to future generations to discover a sport that can truly be practised anywhere.
