Earlier in the day, the winners of the 'Throw to Tashkent' competition, organised by the International Judo Federation, were welcomed into the arena and had the chance to visit the venue and meet all the actors who make the event a success.

For the second time, the IJF organised the challenge, the grand prize of which was an all-expenses paid trip to attend the world championships. More than 500 entries were received and by public vote this resulted in four winners, from Nigeria, Canada, Poland and France.

To award them with a special gift, IJF General Secretary, Mr Jean-Luc Rougé, IJF Treasurer, Mr Nasser Al Tamimi and IJF Director General, Mr Vlad Marinescu, welcomed the winners on to the big stage, while the winning ippon videos were displayed on the big screen.

Congratulations to the winners and don't forget that soon the Throw to Doha competition will be open. The best ippon can win a trip to Qatar to follow the 2023 World Judo Championships.
