In the first round of the men's -66kg, Simon YACOUB of Palestine faced Strahinja BUNCIC of Servia. Aged 28, Simon Jacoub's special technique is tai-otoshi, unfortunately, he couldn't apply if against Strahinja BUNCIC who threw him with a massive te-waza technique. The Serbian is 22 years old and is registered on the judo base under two weight categories (-66kg and -73kg) but since 2016 has been only competing in -66kg. Bronze medallist at the U23 European Championships last year, he is looking now for his first medals on the international circuit. On the first day of competition in Agadir, he started with two victories before being defeated in quarterfinal. He finished 7th.
