In accordance with the IJF Sport and Organisation Rules (SOR) the qualification dates will be:
  • Seniors – Senior WRL of Monday 1st April 2024 (after Antalya Grand Slam 2024),
  • Seniors – Senior WRL of Monday 13th May 2024 (after Qazaqstan Barysy Grand Slam 2024),
  • Juniors – Junior WRL of Tuesday 26th March 2024.

The World Ranking List (WRL) update will occur immediately after the Antalya Grand Slam 2024, on 1st April and again after the Qazaqstan Barysy Grand Slam 2024, on 13th May.

Therefore, any athlete within the WRL top 100 from either of these two WRL updates will be eligible to participate in the Abu Dhabi World Championships Seniors 2024.

Athletes can only be entered in the weight category in which they have qualified. Following these deadlines, the list of qualified athletes will be published and the following rule must be respected:

World Championships Seniors

Only athletes ranked number 1-100* in the senior WRL and athletes ranked number 1-16* in the junior WRL can take part, with each national federation allowed to enter:

  • Up to 9 entries for women with a maximum of 2 athletes per category.
  • Up to 9 entries for men with a maximum of 2 athletes per category.

The host country may enter:

  • Up to 9 entries for women with a maximum of 2 athletes per category, regardless of WRL position.
  • Up to 9 entries for men with a maximum of 2 athletes per category, regardless of WRL position.
  • There is no open category.

*Equally ranked athletes can all participate.

The World Ranking List Seniors of 13th May 2024 will be used for seeding.

Abu Dhabi World Championships Seniors 2024 Mixed Teams

  • For the mixed team event, any athlete (regardless of WRL ranking position) can take part.
  • Athletes who participate in the mixed team competition only should be inscribed as judoka in the individual event in judobase.

Grand Slam Ulaanbaatar 2024

The Grand Slam Ulaanbaatar 2024, scheduled to take place in Mongolia from 28th to 30th June 2024 is cancelled.
