The International Judo Federation and the Komite Olimpiade Indonesia signed a Memorandum of Understanding in Budapest at the IJF headquarter, between the IJF President, Mr Marius Vizer, and the Indonesia NOC, Mr Raja Sapta Oktohari.

Both organisations have as shared vision and objectives the development of sport and the betterment of society through the undeniable values of sports. As a highly educational sport, judo has at its core the fundamental judo moral values which reflect onto the global society, with the aim of developing better citizens for the improvement of social cohesion and inclusiveness.

With the NOC Indonesia global strategy of improving sports in Indonesia and the IJF global strategy of raising the level of judo in all its member countries, Indonesian judo will benefit from this MoU in order to produce better results and become more widely recognised in Indonesia and also globally.

The IJF and NOC Indonesia will mutually share know how for sport education, social activities, marketing and media operations. The IJF will support the launch of a Judo in Schools programme, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Sport and Indonesian Judo federation.

The MoU will cover the development of the sport through the organisation of international events and the development of the participation through programmes such as Judo in schools or the IJF Academy.
