The third day of competition has just ended at the Junior World Championships Odivelas 2023, Portugal, with a plethora of results for Japan, winning three additional gold medals. If the second day of competition was relatively unfruitful for the Japanese judoka, the three categories of this day still saw some shine. Everything is of course relative, since yesterday they were still present in two finals.

The technical and tactical quality of Japanese athletes must be highlighted. They already have the makings of the future heroes that some are sure to become.

While half the competition is now over, we can already talk about the success of these junior world championships which are demonstrating the quality of judo practised in the four corners of the world by judoka who aspire to a brilliant future.

Japanese numerical domination should not obscure the impressive work carried out by many nations who know that the next major global sporting events are being prepared here and now. We already find nations like Italy, Azerbaijan, France, Brazil and Georgia, to name only the first.

Before the last day of the individual tournament opens, a day that you can follow live on https://judotv.com/, 19 delegations have already reached the podium. Who will be next? The answer comes tomorrow with the last four categories.
