One year after the Olympic Games and the Paralympic Games, the Deaflympics 2017 will be staged in Samsun, Turkey, which for several years also accommodated the IJF Samsun Grand Prix.

From July 18-30, deaf athletes from 4 continents (Africa, America, Asia and Europe) will take part in the competition. The event is organized every four years and takes place the year following the major Olympic and Paralympic rendezvous.

As the registration just closed, the organizers were happy to announce that 150 athletes (106 men and 44 women) from 32 countries will participate in the event, which is a record of countries and athletes compared to Deaflympics 2013 in Sofia Bulgaria. This is the third time in a row that judo is officially organized within the Deaflympics since 2009.

The list of countries that will represent:
Africa: Algeria, Cameroon
America: Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Mexico, Venezuela
Asia: Iran, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan
Europe: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine
