The Guadalajara Grand Prix 2025 has officially begun in Mexico, marking the final stop in a remarkable series of international events that have kept judo fans captivated for weeks. The season is not over yet though, there is much more excitement to come. Thus, following the Qingdao Grand Prix at the end of September, and the Junior World Championships and Lima Grand Prix last week, it is now Guadalajara’s turn to host the World Judo Tour.

Since late September, we have witnessed an extraordinary level of competition, where history and legend have been written live on the tatami, under the eyes of cameras and judo fans around the world.

Mexico is no stranger to hosting major judo events. The country has already welcomed a grand prix in Cancún and the prestigious World Judo Masters, also held here in Guadalajara, the capital of the state of Jalisco, located 540 km northwest of Mexico City, in the Atemajac Valley.

Vibrant and full of colour, Guadalajara is a city where tradition meets modernity. The birthplace of mariachi and charrería, it embodies the true soul of Mexico, proud, warm and deeply cultural. Between its lively plazas, striking murals and contagious energy, Guadalajara offers a setting that feels both welcoming and inspiring. This blend of heritage, passion and pride mirrors the spirit of judo itself perfectly: respect, courage and the pursuit of excellence. Here, in the heart of Jalisco, the values of the sport find their natural home, as judo continues to write its Pan-American story.
