The second day of competition at the IBSA Judo Grand Prix Baku 2023 has concluded, bringing a high-level competition to a close. By all accounts, it was a particularly well-organised event with results that lived up to the expectations of all observers and delegations.

The qualifying cycle for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games is in full swing, giving everyone the opportunity to fully express themselves. The next IBSA event will be the Asia Paragames in three weeks and at the end of the year the IJF and IBSA will work together again in Tokyo for what is announced to be a turning point in the race to Paris 2024.

These recent days were a display of top level sport as well as generosity, mutual aid and solidarity. For more than a week, the whole judo family was united in Baku showing that our sport has the capacity to transform society.

During this last day of competition, Brazilian and Chinese judoka produced the best overall performance. The months to come will be decisive for the whole judo community.
