Everyday of the World Judo Championships Tokyo 2019, we propose you the technical analysis of an IJF expert. Today, Giorgi Tchanishvili the official announcer of IJF events, tells us, what he saw and what he felt after an amazing day of judo.

I am following all the matches. I have too as I'm announcing everything that happens in the venue. At the end of the day, what I remember the most is always that we have two new world champions every day.

Today, it was a really special day for Clarisse Agbegnenou of France. The intensity of the final was crazy and I think that when matches like that take place, we just have to enjoy it as it is. But beyond what we've seen today, when you realize that this young lady is four times World Champion, and today in Japan, against a Japanese in the final, that makes you realize that she is an amazing judoka. I must say that I really like her style, full of power and dynamism but also very technical. She is precise on her hands, on her moves, she has a strong spirit and at the end, that makes a fourth world title for Clarisse.

It was also a special day for Sagi Muki (ISR), who for the first time is a world champion. That makes a big difference when you can write that on your business card. After having been European Champion already, he is now on top of the world. Congratulations!

As a Georgian myself, of course I always watch what our team is doing. Luka MAISURADZE is only 21 years old and after his third place at the European Games, this bronze medal means that he is now one of the best athletes of the new generation of judoka that Georgia is producing. It's good for the future.

I am always impressed that everyday, we can see so many great techniques. We are of course expecting great champions, and awaited ones, producing spectacular judo, but we also see judoka which are, at least on paper, less popular and who are delivering amazing judo. That pleases me a lot because it shows that judo is alive, is developing and anyone on the circuit can show his best.

Last but not least, even from my announcer position, I love to watch the replays on the big screen above our heads and especially the 3D replay. This is something totally new, that we are not used to, but suddenly it gives a new dimension to our sport. I am sure that everyone loves it and enjoys those images. I love judo. I really do!
