10 days, 10 short days before the start of the 2018 Judo World Championships taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan from 20 to 27 September. Never has a competition been so eagerly anticipated, never have champions and fans been so excited about the event.

Everyone is in the starting blocks: both the organizers who are finalizing the last logistical details and the athletes who bring a final touch to their careful preparation. If every event of the World Judo Tour counts, especially during this period of Olympic qualification, the World Championships have a different taste because a title makes you immediately enter the legend of the sport, that of Anton Geesink, Ingrid Berghmans, or Kosei Inoue; a medal propels you into the restricted family of world medalists.

While the first break falls can be heard in a distant which is getting closer and closer, discover all the registered judoka at: https://judobase.ijf.org/#/competition/profile/1591

Judo will also be present on television worldwide and in particular on Eurosport, CNN and Euronews. As soon as the precise program is known, we will give you all the details.

Every day we will publish the results, detailed analyzes of the competition and images, many images. Before that, in order to better prepare the competition, we have concocted a complete guide of the entries of which you can discover the first part here: https://www.ijf.org/news/show/complete-guide-to-judobaku2018

Just before the start of the competitions, we will also give you more details about the great Hall of Fame Gala that the International Judo Federation is preparing and in which the world judo legends will be honored (September 18). We will also talk about the big exhibition that will take place in Baku and that will unite the passion for judo and the most beautiful artistic expression of the moment (September 18-19). Last but not least, we will focus on the first Gender Equity Conference to be held on September 19th, after the draw of the competition and during which experts from all over the world will respond with determination to the question: How can we all be stronger together?
