On April 28, 2017, the Pan American Judo Confederation held their Ordinary Congress in Panama City, Panama. In attendance was the President of the International Judo Federation, Mr. Marius Vizer along with International Judo Federation Head Sport Director, Mr. Vladimir Barta.

27 Countries (Argentina, Aruba, Bahamas, Barbados, Bolivia; Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica;  Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Guatemala;  Guyana, Haiti, Honduras, Mexico;  Nicaragua, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico;  El Salvador, Trinidad and Tobago, Uruguay,  United states)  were in attendance to vote for a new executive committee that will be overseeing the organization for the next four years.

Mr. Manuel Larrañaga of Mexico will continue as President of the PJC with Mr. Juan Jose Paz of Bolivia as the new Executive Vice President. Michael Tamura from Canada moves from Executive Vice President to the General Secretary position. Aquiles Gomez of Chile will remain as Treasurer.

The Vice Presidents of the Executive Committee are Ms. Estela Riley (Panama) for North-Central region, Mr. Oscar Cassinerio (Argentina) for South region and Mr. Gilberto Garcia (Dominican Republic) for Caribbean region.

The following positions round out the Executive Committee: Development Director – Mr. Rafael Manso (Cuba), Education Director – Porfirio Garcia (Puerto Rico),Director of Olympic Solidarity – Martin Telemaque (Haiti), Director of Referees, Mr. Ovidio Garnero (Argentina), Sport Director – Carlos Zegarra (Peru) and Director of Administration – Jose H. Rodriguez (USA).
