From 8 to 14 July 2018, the 2nd International Training Camp for the Deaf will be held in Versailles and Paris, France.

The club of JKC Versailles is organizing a 2nd international judo training camp for the deaf and hearing-impaired from all over the world.

This training will allow to develop friendly contacts and to have cultural exchanges through judo. It is open to deaf and hearing-impaired judokas from all countries. This training camp will bring together judokas of all levels: Young practitioners as well as world medalists and Deaflympics. It will be led by Mr. Damien Antoine (Animation Manager).

Mr. Antoine said: “We try to have international events every year. Among the deaf, there are 3 important events: the confederations championship (Europe), the World Champion and Deaflympics, each of these 3 events being organized every 4 years.

The year without any event, we are holding international judo training course as it will be the case in 2018. In the upcoming years, we will have the confederations championships (Europe) 2019, the 2020 World Championship and the Deaflympics 2021.“

After the first successful training session in July 2015, the organizers hope to improve the organization by offering daily judo training at Versailles and at the Institut National de Judo in Paris (INJ), as well as additional sports activities. A cultural program is also scheduled: Visit of the Palace of Versailles and the main monuments of Paris.

JKC Versailles wishes to make this event a regular and dynamic event.
