At the initiative of the leaders of the IBSA Judo Committee, an important film has been made to promote blind judo among coaches.

The film is also historic in the sense that it is the first time a video of this type has been shot. It is the brainchild of Norbert Bíró, Chair of the committee, and János Tardos, Sports Director.

The scenario was designed by Norbert Bíró and Ian Johns, Coach & Education Director. Representatives from six countries were invited to Hungary to appear in the film, along with six experienced coaches from different countries, with their best blind athletes and two beginners. It was filmed at the Rákosvidéke 'Hajtós' Judo Club.

Portugal, Great Britain, Sweden, Russia, Romania and Hungary all took part in the shooting. The video will be premiered along with a presentation at the International Judo Federation annual referee and coaches seminar in January next year in Baku, Azerbaijan, in front of around 250 participants. This forum is the ideal and biggest place to disseminate it among coaches, the potential teachers of blind and visually impaired judokas.

Participants will receive a copy after the demonstration.

Production was made possible thanks to IJF, IPC Agitos Foundation, and IBSA.
