Today, people all around the world are facing the challenge of dealing with COVID-19. From lockdown regulations to changes in daily routine, this virus is affecting millions of athletes emotionally, physically, socially, and mentally. The IJF Academy offers a FREE online course especially designed to educate athletes, coaches, and sports enthusiasts all around the world on how to effectively deal with these challenges and to “FACE COVID” to the best of their abilities.

To access the course, follow these steps:

1. Go to https://academy.ijf.org

2. You must use the "Login in" section in the upper right corner with the following email address:

EMAIL: [email protected]

PASSWORD: judo2020

The F-A-C-E C-O-V-I-D course was designed by Dr Russ Harris to take participants through a series of lectures represented by letters. As participants move from one lecture to the next, they will collect letters to eventually spell out “FACE COVID.”

This acronym was transferred to a sports environment by qualified sport psychologists Dr Noémi GYÖMBÉR (Ms) and Krisztina KOVÁCS (Ms).Each segment contains written materials, practice tests, and a discussion forum to comprehensively develop your understanding on the topic of mental health.

HOW TO USE THE UNITS

We advise you to visit the units indicated by the letters of FACE COVID one by one as follows:

  • read the content and think about it;
  • try to answer the questions and write your comments on a paper;
  • review the sport psychological concepts, which are selected to each unit;
  • test your knowledge by answering the questions under "Practice Test" in each unit: "Test your knowledge";
  • post your comment in the discussion forum in each unit;
  • download the attached PDF files in each unit for your records and offline reading. The attached PDF file is available only in English.
