Present for the duration of the final block of this fifth day of the World Judo Championships Tashkent 2022, President Mirziyoyev was able to enjoy the spectacle of the medal matches and he had a long talk with the President of the International Judo Federation, Mr Marius Vizer.
On the occasion of the presidential visit, Mr Vizer presented H.E. Shavkat Miromonovich Mirziyoyev with the Jigoro Kano statue, designed by the Herend Porcelain company. President Mirziyoyev, in turn, presented Mr Vizer with a statue representing the national emblem of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the famous Humo bird with wings spread, a symbol of happiness and peace.
In an atmosphere worthy of the greatest sporting events, triggered by the gold medal of Davlat Bobonov, on whose shoulders rested all the hopes of a people, President Mirziyoyev was invited to the medal ceremony to present the medals together with Mr Vizer, the President of the Uzbekistan Judo Federation and the Vice President of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr Azizjon Kamilov, during which he directly and warmly congratulated the new world champion.
This very high level visit and the no-less high level of the competition were enough to make everyone in the Humo Arena smile and it proved that the President's attention and investment in judo has been rewarded with this amazing result.
